Queens Park

Life here has a great sense of character. Queens Park is at the heart of it all, with its leafy paths, open lawns, ornamental gardens and a wide range of facilities for residents to enjoy, including tennis courts, a pitch and putt course, a café and a much-loved children’s playground. It is a place for morning strolls, coffee stops and long summer picnics on the grass, while also providing plenty of space for children to play.

The neighbourhood’s independent spirit is centred around Salusbury Road and Lonsdale Road. Salusbury Road has a relaxed neighbourhood feel, with independent shops, cafés and restaurants, including the long-established Queens Park Bookshop. The Salusbury has been a local institution for more than two decades, combining a friendly pub with a well‑known restaurant at the centre of the street, offering quality food, outdoor seating and a year‑round meeting place for residents. Newer additions such as Yard Sale Pizza and Kayan Specialty Coffee continue to add to the area’s evolving character, while familiar favourites keep locals coming back. The Salusbury Winestore adds another local touch, with a carefully selected range of wines, spirits and delicatessen products.

Lonsdale Road complements Salusbury Road with its mix of independent restaurants, creative businesses, co-working spaces and neighbourhood bars, adding to Queens Park’s distinctive local character. It has become a vibrant part of daily life in the neighbourhood, whether for coffee, food, work or meeting friends. Lonsdale Road’s independent food scene includes places such as Don’t Tell Dad and Milk Beach, which are popular throughout the day and into the evening, while Wolfpack comes into its own after work, particularly in the summer when its terrace brings people together. Every July, the Queens Park Street Party transforms Lonsdale Road into a lively celebration, bringing hundreds of residents together and showcasing the strong community spirit that runs through the area.

The farmers’ market is a weekly ritual and one of the things that gives Queens Park its strong sense of community. Every Sunday, residents browse stalls offering fresh produce, artisan food and local specialities. The calendar is also marked by Queens Park Day, the much-loved annual event that brings locals together each year.

Many of Queens Park’s cafés, restaurants and pubs offer outdoor seating, adding to the relaxed feel of the area, particularly in the warmer months. For evenings out, Casa Felicia, the neighbourhood’s stylish Italian restaurant, is a favourite choice for dinner with friends.
